A aplica o da teoria da outremiza o revela as estrat¨¦gias utilizadas para outremizar os nativos, justificar a usurpa o das terras e a vingan a contra eles. Revela-se o uso de tais estrat¨¦gias para subjugar o nativo, com o prop¨®sito de extrair asriquezas naturais da terra. The second novella of Dusklands, of South African J. M. Coetzee, entitled The Narrative of Jacobus Coetzee, is analyzed in the light of post-colonial theory. The text narrates the frustrated expedition of Dutch explorer Jacobus Coetzee to the unknown lands of South Africa in the 18th century. The theory of othering reveals the strategies used to other the natives, to justify the usurpation of the lands and the revenge against them.
