O principal objetivo ¨¦ mostrar que elas s o produtos da pr¨®pria hist¨®ria, tal como foi o projeto educacional da Companhia de Jesus nos s¨¦culos XVI e XVII. Dessa perspectiva, o teor condenat¨®rio contido nas an¨¢lises dos mais distintos autores dessa ¨¦poca revela o car¨¢ter hist¨®rico daquela institui o: em face das novas demandas educacionais e sociais da sociedade burguesa, a Companhia de Jesus deixara de ter a mesma importancia dos s¨¦culos anteriores. Cabe observar tamb¨¦m que o teor das interpreta es, mais do que revelar a importancia daqueles educadores na hist¨®ria, mostra-nos o comprometimento dos autores setecentistas com os novos interesses que passavam a nortear a vida dos homens. Por ¨²ltimo, ressaltamos que essa reflex o sobre as diferentes formas de se condenar a Companhia, tanto espacial quanto temporalmente, ajuda-nos tamb¨¦m a refletir sobre as raz es de algumas cr¨ªticas feitas a eles serem superadas pela hist¨®ria e outras persistirem, apesar das mudan as sociais inerentes ¨¤s pr¨¢ticas humanas. The content of the interpretations of the Jesuits¡¯ action in the eighteenth century is the subject of this article. The main goal is to show that they are the product of the history itself, as it was the educational project of the ¡®Companhia de Jesus¡¯ in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. From this perspective, the condemning content in the analysis of the most distinguished authors of this time reveals the historical character of that institution: given the new educational and social demands of the bourgeois society, the ¡®Companhia de Jesus¡¯ no longer had the same importance from the previous centuries. It should also be noted that the content of the interpretations, more than revealing the importance of those educators in the history, show the seventeenth-century authors¡¯ commitment with the new interests that have guided the life of the mankind.
