%X El prop¨®sito de este trabajo fue obtener la tintura de Capsicum annuum L. seg¨²n el m¨¦todo de la escuela francesa, a un t¨ªtulo de etanol del 90 % y establecer sus ¨ªndices de calidad tales como: caracter¨ªsticas organol¨¦pticas, imagen capilar, ¨ªndice de refracci¨®n, densidad relativa, pH, t¨ªtulo etan¨®lico y porcentaje de residuo seco. Se realizaron reacciones de identificaci¨®n para detectar la presencia de carotenoides y determinar la prueba del vanadato. Por cromatograf¨ªa en capa delgada fue estandarizado un perfil de la tintura. En todos los lotes obtenidos, sus ¨ªndices de calidad se encontraron dentro de los l¨ªmites establecidos por las farmacopeas tomadas como referencias. Se realiz¨® un estudio para determinar el tiempo de vida ¨²til de la tintura por 1 a o a temperatura ambiente en frascos de vidrio de color ¨¢mbar de 30 mL y pudo comprobarse que en estas condiciones conserv¨® ¨®ptimamente sus caracter¨ªsticas. El conteo microbiano de la tintura se mantuvo por debajo de los niveles permisibles durante todo el experimento. Estos resultados demostraron que es realmente posible obtener esta tintura en Cuba con una calidad similar a la exigida por farmacopeas homeop¨¢ticas oficiales. The purpose of this paper was to obtain the tincture of Capsicum annuum L. by the method of the French school at a titer of ethanol 90 % and to establish its quality indexes, such as: organoleptic characteristics, capillary image, refraction index, relative density, pH, ethanol titer and percentage of dry residue. Identification reactions were made to detect the presence of carotenoids and to determine the vanadate test. A profile of the tincture was standardized by thin layer chromatography. In all the batches obtained, the quality indexes were within the limits established by the pharmacopeias taken as reference. A study was conducted to determine the time of useful life of the tincture for a year at room temperature in amber glass flasks of 30 mL. It was proved that it conserved its optimum characteristics under these conditions, and that its microbe count was under the permissible levels during the whole experiment. These results showed that it is really possible to obtain this tincture in Cuba with a quality similar to that demanded by the official homeopathic pharmacopeias.
