Traditionally, it was considered that only the Iberian Peninsula is home to painted dolmens. The analysis of chamber H of the Barnenez tumulus together with some information scattered over the continent, prove that painting was part of the graphic programs in the most archetypal Atlantic sites, such as Brittany. A highly rewarding panorama appears for European megalithic art with potential new readings. The most suitable method of detecting paintings and interpreting them in funerary contexts must be reviewed. La t¨¦cnica ha venido estableci¨¦ndose en el arte megal¨ªtico europeo como una categor¨ªa cultural. Solo la Pen¨ªnsula Ib¨¦rica dispon¨ªa de d¨®lmenes pintados. Pero algunos datos dispersos en el resto del continente, junto con los an¨¢lisis que se aportan procedentes de la c¨¢mara H del t¨²mulo de Barnenez, certifican que la pintura form¨® parte de los programas gr¨¢fi cos de los m¨¢s cl¨¢sicos conjuntos atl¨¢nticos, como es el bret¨®n.
