El 64 % de los pacientes fueron operados por este proceder, y recibi¨® anestesia general el 70, 8 % de la serie. La ex¨¦resis de los dientes retenidos fue la intervenci¨®n quir¨²rgica de mayor frecuencia con el 31, 5 %. Se discuten los resultados y se comparan con otros autores. En conceptos d¨ªa-paciente se produjo un ahorro significativo para la instituci¨®n de $16 450, 56. El 100 % de los familiares prefirieron este m¨¦todo al habitual. The results of the application of the major ambulatory surgery of the pediatric maxillofacial patient at the "Carlos Manuel de C¨¦spedes" Provincial General Teaching Hospital, in Bayamo, during one year (1993) are exposed. 64 % of the patients were operated on by this procedure, and 70.8 % of the series were administered general anesthesia. The exeresis of the impacted tooth was the most frequent surgical procedure with 31.5 %. The results are discussed and compared with those of other authors.
