%X RESUMEN Se hace un an¨¢lisis desde el punto de vista de los principios de la bio¨¦tica, sobre la investigaci¨®n en la fase III de ensayo cl¨ªnico de la aplicaci¨®n del Surfac¨¦n para el s¨ªndrome de dificultad respiratoria del reci¨¦n nacido, la cual se llev¨® a efecto en Cuba. El colectivo de investigadores tuvo que enfrentar una serie de disyuntivas bio¨¦ticas que pusieron de manifiesto la integridad de ese colectivo. Se demuestra que los principios de la bio¨¦tica: beneficiencia, no mal eficiencia, autonom¨ªa y justicia, se tuvieron en cuenta en el protocolo de la investigaci¨®n y durante la ejecuci¨®n de ¨¦sta. Seg¨²n este an¨¢lisis, se justifica que se tomara un grupo control hist¨®rico, en lugar de un grupo control placebo, para las comparaciones de la utilizaci¨®n del Surfac¨¦n y que se optara por el consentimiento parental despu¨¦s de una informaci¨®n verbal por el m¨¦dico, sin necesidad de utilizar un documento de consentimiento escrito. An analysis was made from the point of view of bioethic principles, on the investigation of a phase III clinical trial regarding the application of Surfacen for the treatment of the respiratory distress syndrome of the newborn in Cuba. The team of investigators had to face a series of bioethic alternatives which evidenced the integrity of the team of workers. It was demonstrated that bioethic principles such as beneficience, efficiency, autonomy, and justice were taken into account to conduct the protocol of the investigation and during the performance of it. According to such analysis, it was justified that a history control group will be taken instead of a placebo control group for the comparison of the utilization of Surfacen. Also the parents' consent will be obtained after a verbal information by the doctor without the need of using a document of informed written consent.
