%X Las inmunodeficiencias primarias son enfermedades gen¨¦ticas, caracterizadas por infecciones cr¨®nicas devastadoras que conllevan a la muerte, al desarrollo de tumores y a enfermedades autoinmunes, y la mayor¨ªa de estas enfermedades cursan en la edad pedi¨¢trica. Desde la ¨²ltima d¨¦cada del pasado siglo, el desarrollo de la tecnolog¨ªa, el surgimiento del Proyecto del Genoma Humano y la profundizaci¨®n en los aspectos bio¨¦ticos, han dado lugar a especificidades en la atenci¨®n m¨¦dica e investigativa del paciente pedi¨¢trico y del que desarrolla una enfermedad inmunol¨®gica. Este trabajo recoge los aspectos bio¨¦ticos m¨¢s importantes y los dilemas ¨¦ticos con los que se enfrenta el inmun¨®logo pedi¨¢trico en la atenci¨®n al paciente con inmunodeficiencia primaria, el cual demanda la atenci¨®n de, pr¨¢cticamente, todas las especialidades pedi¨¢tricas. Primary immunodeficiencies are genetic diseases characterized by devastating chronic infections leading to death, tumor development and autoimmune diseases, and most of diseases occur at pediatric ages. Since the last decade of the past century, the development of technology, the emergence of the Human Genome Project and the in-depth consideration of bioethical aspects have given rise to specificities in the medical and research care for the pediatric patients and for those suffering immunological diseases. This paper covered the most important bioethical aspects and the ethical dilemmas that the pediatric immunologist faces when taking care of a primary immunodeficiency patient, who practically requires the attention of all the pediatric specialties.
