%X OBJETIVO: Evaluar el poder corneal brindado por el Pentacam en pacientes miopes operados de cirug¨ªa refractiva con excimer l¨¢ser en el Instituto Cubano de Oftalmolog¨ªa  Ram¨®n Pando Ferrer , desde septiembre a diciembre de 2008. M¨¦TODOS: Se realiz¨® un estudio prospectivo en 50 ojos de 25 pacientes, utilizando varias mediciones obtenidas por el Pentacam: mapas de color queratom¨¦trico total y Equivalent K-reading Power, el true net power y las lecturas de queratometr¨ªa equivalentes a diferentes di¨¢metros. Todas analizadas y comparadas con los valores de queratometr¨ªas obtenidos a trav¨¦s del m¨¦todo de historia cl¨ªnica. Adem¨¢s se compararon las queratometr¨ªas preoperatorias reales con las queratometr¨ªas preoperatorias estimadas mostradas por el Pentacam. El an¨¢lisis estad¨ªstico se realiz¨® con la Prueba T para datos pareados, utilizando una significaci¨®n del 95%. RESULTADOS: No hubo diferencias estad¨ªsticas significativas entre las queratometr¨ªas del m¨¦todo de historia cl¨ªnica, el Equivalent K-reading Power y las lecturas de queratometr¨ªa equivalentes a diferentes di¨¢metros, mostrando la de 3,0 mm, la menor diferencia. El resto de las mediciones difirieron de forma significativa. No se encontr¨® diferencias entre las queratometr¨ªas preoperatorios. CONCLUSIONES: El Pentacam aport¨® poderes corneales que no difirieron estad¨ªsticamente de los obtenidos por el m¨¦todo de historia cl¨ªnica en ojos miopes que ten¨ªan cirug¨ªa previa con exc¨ªmer l¨¢ser. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the corneal power offered by Pentacam for myopic patients operated on by refractive excimer laser surgery at "Ram¨®n Pando Ferrer" Cuban Institute of Ophthalmology from September to December, 2008. METHODS: A prospective study was performed in 50 eyes of 25 patients, using several measurements taken by Pentacam: total keratometric color maps and Equivalent K-reading Power, true net power and the keratometry readings equivalent to different diameters. All these measurements were analyzed and compared with the keratometry values seen in the clinical records. The real preoperative keratometries were also compared with the estimated preoperative keratometries shown by the Pentacam. The statistical analysis was based on paired t test, with 95 % significance. RESULTS: There were not significant statistical differences among the Keratometries of the medical histories, the Equivalent K-reading Power and the Keratometry readings equivalent to different diameters, being the 3.0 mm reading the one that showed the smallest difference.
