%X Se encuestaron y reexaminaron 59 pacientes en el hospital Centro de Investigaciones M¨¦dico Quir¨²rgicas (CIMEQ) 1 a despu¨¦s de la epidemia de neuropat¨ªa. Se investigaron los posibles factores asociados con la ocurrencia, para ser estudiados con la persistencia de la enfermedad, incluido el t¨ªtulo de anticuerpos de 33 de ellos, que ten¨ªan serolog¨ªa previa contra el agente biol¨®gico (cepa 47/IPK) aislado del l¨ªquido cefalorraqu¨ªdeo de un paciente afectado. Una cuarta parte de los pacientes (15 casos) continuaban enfermos, se destacaban la p¨¦rdida de peso y el h¨¢bito de fumar como los factores m¨¢s asociados con la persistencia de las manifestaciones cl¨ªnicas de neuropat¨ªa epid¨¦mica. A pesar de que el peque o n¨²mero de pacientes que acudieron al chequeo constituy¨® una limitante del estudio, ¨¦ste es un documento b¨¢sico de la situaci¨®n existente 1 a despu¨¦s de ocurrido el problema. 56 patients were surveyed and reexamined at the Center for Medical and Surgical Research (CMSR) a year after the onset of the neuropathy epidemic. The possible factors associated with the occurrence were investigated to be studes together with the disease persistence, including the antibody titri of 33 of them, who had a previous serology against the biological agent (strain 47/IPK) isolated from the cerebrospinal fluid of a sick patient. A fourth of the patients (15 cases) were still ill. The losss of weight and the smoking habit were stressed as the factors most associated with the persistence of the clinical manifestations of epidemic neuropathy. In spite of the fact that the small number of patients who underwent the checkup limited the study, this is a basic document about the existent situation a year after the problem happened.
