%X Se estudiaron 8 pacientes con el diagn車stico de paludismo por Plasmodium vivax y deficiencia de glucosa 6 fosfato deshidrogenasa, que deb赤an recibir tratamiento radical antipal迆dico con primaquina. Se determin車 que el 87,5 % de los pacientes present車 hem車lisis, pero la relaci車n de 谷sta con la actividad enzim芍tica no fue significativa (p 0,05) el 50 % de los pacientes no pudo concluir el tratamiento por la aparici車n de hem車lisis importante. Concluimos que en los pacientes con d谷ficit de glucosa 6 fosfato deshidrogenasa no debe hacerse uso indiscriminado de la primaquina. 8 patients with paludism diagnosis due to Plasmodium vivax and deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase that should receive antipaludism radical treatment with primaquine were studied. It was determined that 87.5 % of the patients presented hemolysis but its relation with the enzymatic activity was not significant (p 0.05). 50 % of the patients could not finish their treatment because of the appareance of important hemolysis. It is concluded that primaquine should not be used indiscriminately among those patients with deficit of glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase.
