The patient was treated with polyvalente serum, antibiotics and autograft. This finding allows to suggest that the poison of some Venezuelan common rattlesnakes has a systemic effect on the skeletal muscle and on capillaries that generate edema, hemorragic phenomena and necrosis Se describieron los efectos hemorr¨¢gico, necr¨®tico y edematoso en un paciente de 23 a os, proveniente de Lagunetica, Los Teques, estado Miranda, Venezuela, ocasionados por la mordedura de una serpiente cascabel com¨²n venezolana (Crotalus durissus cumanensis). %K VENENOS DE SERPIENTES %K HEMORRAGIA %K VENENOS CROTALIDOS %K NECROSIS %K EDEMA %K SISTEMA MUSCULOESQUELETICO %K CAPILARES %K SNAKE VENOMS %K HEMORRAGE %K CROTALID VENOMS %K NECROSIS %K EDEMA %K MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM %K CAPILLARIES %U http://scielo.sld.cu/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0375-07602003000100006
