%X Se analiz車 el comportamiento de la meningitis bacteriana con agente identificado correspondiente al a o 1998 en la provincia Ciudad de La Habana. La aplicaci車n del Sistema de Informaci車n Geogr芍fica Mapinfo versi車n 4.1 permiti車 conocer la distribuci車n espacial de los enfermos. Se obtuvo como resultado una zona de circulaci車n de Neisseria meningitidis al centro nordeste, una franja al norte y noroeste de la ciudad como 芍rea de prevalencia de Streptococcus pneumoniae y zonas aisladas al centro, sur y este como 芍reas de prevalencia de Haemophilus influenzae, relacionadas con las principales fuentes de contaminaci車n atmosf谷rica en la provincia. Se evidenci車 la importancia del an芍lisis espacial en la profundizaci車n del conocimiento para el estudio epidemiol車gico. The behaviour of bacterial meningitis with identified agent in the City of Havana in 1998. The implementation of Geographic Information System Mapinfo 4.1 made it possible to know the spatial distribution of the sick people. As a result, we found an area of circulation of Neisseria meningitidis located to the northeast center; an area of prevalence of Streptococcus pneumoniae to the north and northeast of the city and zones located to the center, east and south where Haemophlus influenzae prevailed. These areas were related to the main sources of environmental pollution in the province. THe importance of the spatial analysis for expanding the knowledge for an epidemiological study was evidenced.
