%X Se reporta la infecci車n pr Schistosoma intercalatum y probable hibridizaci車n con Schistosoma haematobium en un paciente procedente del este de 芍frica, 芍rea donde hasta la fecha no hab赤a sido demostrada. Las manifestaciones cl赤nicas fundamentales consistieron en dolores abdominales y diarreas con sangre. El diagn車stico se realiz車 por el hallazgo en el examen microsc車pico de los huevos caracter赤sticso de Schistosoma intercalatum en heces y orina, mediante la t谷cnica de Ziehl-Neelsen modificada. It is reported the infection due to Schistosoma intercalatum and the probable hybridization with Schistosoma haematobium in a patient from the eastern region of Africa, where it has not been demonstrated before. The main clinical manifestations were abdominal pain and diarrea with blood. The diagnosis was possible thanks to the finding in the microscopic examination of the characteristic eggs of Schistosoma intercalatum in faeces and urine by the modified technique of Ziehl-Neelsen.
