%X Para la clasificaci車n de casos de dengue la OMS/OPS incluye a la inhibici車n de la hemaglutinaci車n como una de las t谷cnicas serol車gicas para esos fines y se acepta tambi谷n la posibilidad de utilizar el ELISA con un t赤tulo equivalente al establecido por la IH. En este trabajo se presenta la utilidad del ELISA de inhibici車n para la clasificaci車n de caso probable, confirmado y tipo de infecci車n (primaria y secundaria) de dengue. For the classification of dengue cases the WHO/PAHO includes the hemagglutination inhibition test as one of the serological techniques used to this end and it is also accepted the possibility of using the ELISA with a titer equivalent to that established by the IH. In this paper, it is explained the usefulness of the inhibition ELISA for the classification of a probable case, a confirmed case, and type of dengue infection (primary or secondary).
