%X Se realiza un estudio descriptivo y transversal de la totalidad de la poblaci車n femenina del consultorio m谷dico No. 16 del policl赤nico "Jorge Ru赤z Ram赤rez" comprendida en las edades de 40 a 59 a os de edad. Se le aplic車 un cuestionario an車nimo donde se recogieron las siguientes variables: edad, estado conyugal, edad de aparici車n de la menopausia, algunas caracter赤sticas de la sexualidad y de las relaciones conyugales y familiares y principales s赤ntomas psicol車gicos. Se concluy車 que la mayor赤a de las pacientes ten赤an pareja estable, hubo incidencia de s赤ntomas s赤quicos, predomin車 la ansiedad, la depresi車n y la irritabilidad, as赤 como las alteraciones en la esfera sexual fundamentalmente en las postmenop芍usicas. Fue la evitaci車n de las relaciones sexuales, la disminuci車n del deseo sexual, el dolor a la penetraci車n y la insatisfacci車n los s赤ntomas m芍s frecuentes, y se encontraron alteraciones en las relaciones familiares dadas principalmente por la falta de comunicaci車n y las discusiones en ambos grupos A descriptive and cross-sectional study of the whole female population aged 40-59 from the family physician∩s office No. 16 of the"Jorge Ruis Ram赤rez" Polyclinic was conducted. An anonymous questionnarie was used through which the following varaibles were obtained: age, marital status, age at the appearance of menopause, some characteristics of sexuality and of the marital and family relations, and the main psychological symptoms. It was concluded that most of the patients had a steady partner, that there was incidence of psychic symptoms, and that anxiety, depression, irritability, as well as the disorders in the sexual sphere predominated mainly menopause. The commonest symptoms were: the avoidance of sexual relations, the reduction of sexual desire, the pain on penetration, and dissatisfaction. There were also alterations of the family relations due mainly to the lack of communication and to the arguments in both groups
