The research seeks to explore two principles of translating terms, 求recombination of semantic components′ and 求functional equivalence′, which helps look through terms outside the context and determine if the translation units in translating the IT terms are morphemes, words, or phrases. Based on these term translation principles and Vinay & Darbelnet*s (1977) translation procedures, six procedures of translating terms每direct borrowing, 求calque′ or loan translation, literal translation, transposition, modulation, and adaptation每are developed. Besides, Coordinate Translation Model with three axes: X axis每translation unit axis, Y axis每concept equivalent axis, and Z axis每language task schema axis is proposed to locate appropriate translation units for translating IT terms inside the context. %K scientific term %K IT term %K recombination of semantic components %K functional equivalence %K translation unit %K Coordinate Translation Model %U http://ojs.academypublisher.com/index.php/tpls/article/view/3732
