%0 Journal Article %T Morbilidad del c¨¢ncer de mama en la mujer %A Ra¨²l Morales Gonz¨¢lez %A Annarela Poll¨¢n P¨¦rez %J Revista Cubana de Medicina General Integral %D 1999 %I ECIMED %X Realizamos un estudio retroprospectivo con 50 pacientes pertenecientes al ¨¢rea de salud del Policl¨ªnico Comunitario No. 1 de Manzanillo, con diagn¨®stico citomorfol¨®gico de c¨¢ncer de mama, atendidas en la Consulta Central de Mama del Hospital "Celia S¨¢nchez Manduley", desde enero de 1990 hasta diciembre de 1997. Se analizan algunos factores relacionados con la morbilidad del c¨¢ncer de mama en la mujer de nuestro medio. La informaci¨®n se proces¨® por medidas estad¨ªsticas como n¨²meros absolutos, porcentajes y tasa de prevalencia. La enfermedad fue m¨¢s frecuente en la 5ta. y 7ma. d¨¦cadas de la vida; el mayor riesgo de enfermar se present¨® de los 70 a os, y la tasa de prevalencia del ¨¢rea es de 21,9 por 10 000 mujeres. Las mujeres con embarazos m¨²ltiples se asociaron con una disminuci¨®n en la incidencia del c¨¢ncer mamario, el c¨¢ncer afect¨® m¨¢s a las obesas y a las que ten¨ªan el h¨¢bito de ingerir bebidas alcoh¨®licas. A retrospective study of 50 patients from the health area of the Community Polyclinic No. 1, in Manzanillo, was conducted. These women had a cytomorphological diagnosis of breast cancer and were attended at the Central Breast Department of the "Celia S¨¢nchez Manduley" Hospital, from January, 1990, to December, 1997. Some factors related to morbidity from breast cancer in our environment were analyzed. The information was processed by statistical measures with absolute numbers, percentages and prevalence rate. The disease was more frequent in the 5th and 7th decades of life. Those aged 70 were at the highest risk for getting sick. The prevalence rate of the area was 21.9 per 10 000 women. Multiparous women were associated with a reduction in the incidence of breast cancer.
