%X Resumen Desde su descubrimiento, el uso indiscriminado de los antibi車ticos en la pr芍ctica m谷dica ha provocado, entre otros males, el desarrollo de cepas bacterianas resistentes. Con el objetivo de brindar un material ameno y actualizado, se realiz車 una revisi車n bibliogr芍fica profundizando en los antecedentes hist車ricos del tema y las nuevas tendencias vigentes a nivel mundial para el tratamiento de los casos. Se concluy車 que es necesario crear conciencia sobre las consecuencias que se derivan del uso irracional de los antibi車ticos, ya bien sea por el personal m谷dico como en la comunidad; y que deben aplicarse acciones m谷dicas espec赤ficas encaminadas a la promoci車n de estilos de vida saludables y a la prevenci車n de las enfermedades, utilizando medios naturales o tradicionales de curaci車n aplicados en perfecta armon赤a con nuestra medicina tecnol車gica actual. Since its discovery, the indiscriminate use of antibiotics in medical practice has caused, among other ailments, the development of resistant bacterial strains. Aimed at providing an updated material, it was made a bibliographic review that goes deep into the historical background of the topic and into the new standing trends at the world level to treat the cases. It was concluded that it is necessary that people be aware of the consequences derived from the irrational use of antibiotics on the part of the medical personnel or of the community, and that specific medical actions directed to the promotion of healthy lifestyles and to the prevention of diseases should be applied by using natural or traditional means of cure applied in perfect harmony with our present technological medicine.
