%X The platonic ontology as known through the Phaedo and Republic is centered on the hypothesis of the intelligible Forms, that is, the platonic Socrates' belief that there are ontologically independent entities such as "the beautiful itself", "the good itself", "the equal itself" etc., of which all empirical things participate thereby receiving the properties they exhibit. Clearly, the main philosophical influences on this doctrine are pre-Socratic philosophy, the sophistic and Socrates' thought. The aim of this paper is to present which ideas or philosophical questions led Plato to postulate the Forms. A ontologia plat nica, como conhecida a partir do F谷don e da Rep迆blica, est芍 centrada na hip車tese das Formas intelig赤veis, ou seja, a cren a defendida pelo S車crates plat nico na exist那ncia de entidades ontologicamente independentes, ※o belo em si§, ※o bem em si§, ※o igual em si§, etc., das quais as coisas emp赤ricas participam recebendo por isso as propriedades que exibem. Notoriamente, as principais influ那ncias filos車ficas dessa doutrina s o a filosofia pr谷-socr芍tica, a sof赤stica e o pensamento de S車crates. O objetivo deste artigo 谷 mostrar que ideias ou quest es filos車ficas levaram Plat o a postular as Formas.
