Dščnya Sava Esnas nda Yetim ve ksščz ocuklar n Himayesi ve E itimi: Darščleytamlar//// Protection and Education of the Orphans during World War I: Daruleytamlars %A Ersin MščEZZŁżNOŁżLU %J History Studies : International Journal of History %D 2012 %I History Studies : International Journal of History %X Occurring in the first quarter of the twentieth century, the Balkan Wars and the First World War I revealed a large number of orphans and vulnerable children and made it obligatory to take urgent measures about these children. This with need darščleytamlar was formed. These institutions both helped orphans and vulnerable children to get cared and made it possible for theme receive a good education. And it was aimed to make a specialized branch of art, especially for children to ensure their livelihood theme win in this way was to be guaranteed. Paralel to this idea industry and agriculture for the collection a large number of darščleytam students were sent sent to Germany to get an education for industry and agriculture. At one point the number of children in Darščleytamlar increased to fifteeen-twenty thousands. But the economic difficulties caused by the war, made the feeding and direction of this number of children difficult. Especially some of the province darščleytams were very adversely affected and had to be closed.
