%0 Journal Article %T POST-OPERATIVE COMPLICATIONS AND MORTALTY OF THE PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM THE DIABETES FOOT SYNDROME %A Miroslav Stojiljkovi£ż %A Dragoslav Milenkovi£ż %J Acta Medica Medianae %D 2002 %I The Faculty of Medicine in Nis %X The most frequent and most significant post-operative complications that were registered in 32 (31 %) of the serious diabetes patients and disabled were: more difficult stump healing (8%), more extensive necrosis (3%) and infections (20%). There were 12 examined who died which makes a hospital mortality of 11,42%. Two patients died after refusing to accept the proposed amputations. Two more patients went home at their relatives' request or at their own personal request in the extremely serious state (ante fem).
