The British Empire invaded Egypt in 1880 and signed bilateral treaties with the local emirates in the Persian Gulf which were under the Ottoman domain. Then, by referring to those bilateral treaties, the British Empire prevented Ottoman interventions in the Gulf emirates. ¡°The Issue of the Bahrain Islands¡± booklet, prepared by the Ottoman foreign ministry, focuses on the expansionist policy of the British Empire. The booklet narrates the challenges posed to the Ottoman administration by the tribal structure of the Arab tribes.
