%X This study examines Iran¡¯s nuclear energy policy and its implications. Although Iran claims to produce nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, this claim does not convince the Western powers. This article argues that Iran¡¯s nuclear energy policy is not solely designed for energy production it also has a different dimension stemming from Iran¡¯s conflicts with the West. It is not expected that the problem in the short term would escalate into a war, but it has the potential of increasing the regional tension.
