The application of theautomated methods for continual following of the chemocultures provide forovercoming some shortcomings of the classical treatment. In the Institute for healthProtection in Ni since 1996 with some short interruptions there has been anapparatus for continual and automatic following of the chemocultures, namelyBactec 9120 (namely, Bection Dickinson). Tn the two year's period 1354chemocultures from various clinics have been treated in this way. There have been24,3% of positive samples determined as well as 40 different microorganisms havebeen proved. Tn the first place regarding the number of the isolated is theStaphylococcus gender (59,6%) while S. aureus represents 18,15% of the isolated. An important place is taken by the Enterohacteriaceae family (15,35%) with the E.coli species and the Pseudomonas gender (10,4%). This method has also helped thedetection of the poly-microbe flora. The average time of the microorganism detectionin the chemoculture is 17,9 hours. It has been concluded that this method is helpful indetecting a great number of species in the samples, though the gram-positive cocci (S.epidermidis and S. aureus) are still the most often isolated microorganisms. Themethod provides for detecting poly-microbe in the sample thus making the wholemicrobiological diagnosis faster. %K Chemoculture Treatment %K Application of the Bactec 9120 %K Microorganism Frequency %U http://publisher.medfak.ni.ac.rs/2000-html/5-broj/PRIMENA%20BACTEC-A%209120....pdf
