%X A pesar de las mejoras desarrolladas en el dise o de las pr¨®tesis valvulares mec¨¢nicas, la trombosis valvular prot¨¦sica contin¨²a siendo una causa frecuente de morbilidad, generalmente por una anticoagulaci¨®n incorrecta. Se present¨® una paciente con trombosis prot¨¦sica mitral al a o de su implantaci¨®n, que recibi¨® un diagn¨®stico imaginol¨®gico mediante ecocardiograf¨ªa transtor¨¢cica, transesof¨¢gica y tomograf¨ªa computarizada de 64 cortes. La terapia trombol¨ªtica fue exitosa y permiti¨® la evoluci¨®n satisfactoria de la paciente. Despite the progress achieved in the design of mechanical prosthetic valves, prosthetic valve thrombosis remains a frequent cause of morbidity, usually due to incorrect anticoagulation. A patient was presented with mitral prosthetic thrombosis one year after implantation, who had been diagnosed by transthoracic transesophageal echocardiography imaging and 64-slice computed tomography. Thrombolytic therapy was successful and led to the satisfactory evolution of the patient.
