%X En este trabajo se comparan las enfermedades pri車nicas con la enfermedad de Alzheimer, tratando de dar una explicaci車n, en el orden epidemiol車gico, al aumento de la incidencia de esta 迆ltima, as赤 como la similitud que se establece en el 芍mbito cl赤nico-patol車gico, la cual no obedece a la casualidad y s赤 probablemente a la causalidad en cuanto a mecanismos comunes en su origen, pues son los trastornos en la conformaci車n de la estructura proteica normal lo que pudiera explicar no s車lo la ocurrencia de estas enfermedades, sino tambi谷n la capacidad de tornarse infecciosas, con la potencialidad de ser contagiosas en mayor o menor per赤odo y en mayor o menor grado. This paper compares prion diseases and Alzheimer's disease with the purpose of providing an epidemiological explanation for the increased incidence of the latter, as well as for the clinical and pathological similarity between the two, which is not due to chance, but probably of a causal nature, due to common mechanisms in their origin, since it is the disturbances in the formation of the normal protein structure which could explain not only the occurrence of these diseases, but also their ability to become infectious, with a potential to be contagious in a longer or shorter period and to a greater or lesser degree.
