%0 Journal Article %T Research: FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF FAST DISSOLVING TABLETS OF AZITHROMYCIN DIHYDRATE USING DIFFERENT SUPER DISINTEGRANTS %A Ravi S Wanare* %A Ravikant S Murkute %J Pharmacie Globale : International Journal of Comprehensive Pharmacy %D 2012 %I %X In this investigation fast dissolving tablets of Azithromycin Dihydrate were prepared using different super disintegrants. A direct compression method was failed to formulate dispersible tablet of Azithromycin so wet granulation method was used. In study, different super disintegrant are used such as croscarmellose sodium (CCS), sodium starch glycolate (SSG) and crospovidone (CPVP). In all the formulations water was used as a binding agent to attain hardness. The prepared fast disintegrating tablets were evaluated for weight variation, content uniformity, hardness, disintegration time, wetting time and friability of tablets. Wetting time of formulations containing sodium starch glycolate was least and tablets showed fastest disintegration. All the tablets had hardness 3.1-5.3 kg/cm2 and friability of all formulations was less than 1%, weight variation and drug content were within official limit. Amongst all formulations, formulation FDT7 prepared showed least disintegrating time of 21.40 secs and faster dissolution. %K Azithromycin %K Disintegration time %K wetting time %K FDT %K Croscarmellose sodium %K sodium starch glycolate and Crospovidone %U http://pharmacie-globale.info/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_view&gid=260&tmpl=component&format=raw&Itemid=41
