%X Resumen: Este trabajo ofrece un estudio de la evoluci車n del concepto de enfermedad enel pensamiento de John Locke, tomando como referentes dos de sus escritos: Morbus(1666) y Methodus Medendi (1678). Dicha evoluci車n nos permite estudiar algunos encuentrosy desencuentros del pensamiento del empirista con las tesis de Galeno, Paracelso,Willis, Descartes y Boyle. Aunque Locke fue, en el tema concreto de las enfermedades, unecl谷ctico que supo aunar diversas tradiciones, sin embargo, el peso de las concepcionesiatroqu赤micas fue creciendo con el tiempo. Se ofrece tambi谷n una traducci車n al castellanodel breve texto Methodus Medendi.Abstract: This paper deals with the development of disease∩s conception in John Locke∩sthought, studying two works: Morbus (1666) y Methodus Medendi (1678). That evolutionlets us examine some resemblances and differences among the empirist∩s thought and theideas of Galen, Paracelsus, Willis, Descartes and Boyle. Although Locke was an eclectic,who managed to join different traditions on the specific subject of diseases, nevertheless,the prominence of his iatrochemical conception was gradually growing. We also offer atranslation into Spanish about the short text Methodus Medendi.
