%X La inmunoglobulina D (IgD) es, de las prote赤nas presentes en el suero humano, la menos conocida en cuanto a su funci車n biol車gica. En la actualidad, se han incrementado los estudios de la IgD s谷rica en relaci車n con diferentes enfermedades, al demostrarse su participaci車n en determinados trastornos febriles en ni os, as赤 como el papel de esta en la respuesta inmune, dado por su expresi車n en la membrana de los linfocitos B formando parte del receptor antig谷nico. En nuestro trabajo se revisan las propiedades de la IgD y su papel en la respuesta inmune, as赤 como su relaci車n con diferentes enfermedades Immnoglobulin D(IgD) is one of the proteins present in human serum and the least known as far as its biological function is concerned. At present the number of studies of serum IgD in different diseases has increased since it has been demonstrated that IgD is involved in certain febrile disorders in children and plays a role in the immune response given by its expression in B lymphocyte membrane as part of the antigenic receptor. Our paper reviews the properties of IgD, its role in the immune response and its relation with various diseases
