%X This interview is about Professor Neil Larsen¡¯s biography, since his formative years, focussed in his years in the University of Minnesota, during the Reagan¡¯s administration. It presents a critical analysis of the changes in the American intellectual context during the 80¡¯s, and emphasizes the impoverishment and ¡®domestication¡¯ of intellectual life in the United States. On the contrary, Larsen defends the engagement with Lukacs, as necessary to preserve the tradition of the Marxist literary aesthetics.
