%X El texto analiza la utilizaci車n que recibi車 la fotograf赤a por parte de distintos actores involucrados en la modernizaci車n econ車mica, social y pol赤tica operada a fines del siglo XIX en Chile. Adem芍s de una veta de registro visual, la fotograf赤a fue un medio para dar a conocer las posibilidades de explotaci車n del territorio nacional y la idoneidad de los trabajadores chilenos para adaptarse a los requerimientos de la econom赤a capitalista. Tomando en cuenta que, adem芍s, parte del mundo obrero de comienzos de siglo utiliz車 personal y colectivamente la fotograf赤a, se interpreta su experiencia como sujetos representados y como agentes del hecho fotogr芍fico. The text analyzes how photography was used by different actors involved in economic, social and political modernization at the end of the nineteenth century in Chile. As well as serving as a type of visual record, photography was a medium through which the possibilities for the exploitation of national territory and Chilean workers ability to adapt to the requirements of a capitalist economy were made know. Also taking into account that some of the workers at the beginning of the century used photography both personally and collectively. This paper analyzes their experience of serving as both the subjects of the photographs and as the photographers themselves.
