%X El desarrollo significativo que ha presentado en las ¨²ltimas d¨¦cadas del siglo la Industria Farmac¨¦utica, muestra un marcado inter¨¦s por investigadores e instituciones cient¨ªficas en el dise o de medicamentos, con un alcance r¨¢pido de un nivel terap¨¦utico efectivo del f¨¢rmaco en un tiempo breve, que dure desde la recuperaci¨®n total del paciente hasta la eliminaci¨®n completa de los s¨ªntomas que se quieren suprimir. Se realiz¨® un an¨¢lisis inform¨¦trico sobre las tendencias de investigaci¨®n en la tem¨¢tica durante los ¨²ltimos a os y para ello se utiliz¨® la informaci¨®n que sobre el tema existe en las bases de datos International Pharmaceutical Abstract y Medline. Estas 2 bases contienen informaci¨®n bibliogr¨¢fica sobre farmacia, medicina, farmacolog¨ªa, toxicolog¨ªa, etc., susceptible de ser analizada por medios automatizados. Se obtuvo como resultado, despu¨¦s de un an¨¢lisis minucioso sobre la relevancia de los art¨ªculos, una base de datos con 2 855 registros. The significant development of the Pharmaceutical Industry during the last decades shows the marked interest of researchers and scientific institutions in the drug design, which reaches fast an effective therapeutic level of the drug in a short time and that lasts from the total recovery of the patient to the complete elimination of the symptoms. An informetric analysis of the trends of research on this topic during the last years was made by using the information existing on the International Pharmaceutical Abstract and on the Medline databases. These 2 databases contain bibliographic information on pharmacy, medicine, pharmacology, toxicology, etc., that may be analyzed by automated means. After a detailed analysis on the relevance of the articles, a database of 2 855 entries was obtained.
