%X La parotiditis recurrente se define como una inflamaci車n parot赤dea, generalmente asociada a una sialectasia no obstructiva glandular. Se realiz車 un estudio en 74 ni os menores de 15 a os con diagn車stico de parotiditis recurrente en el per赤odo de 2000 a 2007. A cada paciente se le realiz車 interrogatorio, examen f赤sico y estudio inmunol車gico mediante cuantificaci車n de inmunoglobulinas s谷ricas M y G, rosetas espont芍nea y activa e 赤ndice opsonofagoc赤tico. La enfermedad afect車 de forma similar a los 2 sexos. La edad de presentaci車n de la primera crisis fue alrededor de los 3 a os, con un promedio de 7 crisis por ni o y una duraci車n de 6 d. El 95,9 % de los pacientes present車 alguna alteraci車n de la respuesta inmune, 41,8 % de c谷lulas T, 12,2 % de c谷lulas fagoc赤ticas, y 41,8 % combinadas. Recurrent parotiditis is defined as parotic inflammation that is generally associated to non-obstructive glandular sialectasia. Seventy four children under 15 years of age, diagnosed with recurrent parotiditis from 2000 to 2007, were studied. Each patient was questioned and they also underwent physical exam and immunological study through quantification of serum M and G immunoglobulins, the spontaneous and active rosettes and the opsonocytophagic index. The disease affected males and females in a similar way. The age of onset of the first crisis was 3 years, with an average of 7 crises per child and 6 days of duration. Of these patients, 95.9 % presented with some disorder in the immune response, that is, 41.8 % in T-cells, 12.2 % in phagocytic cells and 41.8 % combined.
