%X Realizamos un estudio detallado del comportamiento del Plan de Detecci¨®n Precoz del C¨¢ncer Bucal (PDCB) en el municipio de Artemisa durante los ¨²ltimos cinco a os. Determinar la proporci¨®n de pacientes examinados y remitidos por edades y sexos as¨ª como el diagn¨®stico definitivo de las lesiones encontradas fue el objetivo de esta investigaci¨®n. Se examinaron un total de 149 961 pacientes mayores de 15 a os, de los cuales se remitieron con lesiones 109 para el 0,072 % de la muestra; hubo un ligero predominio en el sexo masculino en los afectados. Estos fueron aumentando a medida que la edad tambi¨¦n lo hizo. Las lesiones m¨¢s frecuentes fueron: leucoplasias, carcinomas basales, neoplasias benignas, otras lesiones premalignas, y carcinomas epidermoides. Se alamos la importancia de la incorporaci¨®n del m¨¦dico de la familia a este plan en nuestro municipio. A detailed study of the behaviour of the Plan for the Early Detection of Oral Cancer (PEDOC) at the municipality of Artemisa during the last five years, was carried out. The objective of this investigation was to determine the number of patients examined and referred by age and sex, and the definite diagnosis of the lesions found. 149 961 patients over 15 were examined, from whom 109 were referred with lesions, accounting for 0,072 % of the sample. Among the affected there was a slight predominance of males that increased together with age. The most frequent lesions were: leukoplasias, basal carcinomas, benign neoplasias, other premalignant lesions, and epidermoid carcinomas. It is stress the importance of the family physician incorporation to this plan in our municipality.
