%X In order to find the abundant servile manpower essential to the development of the potentialities of their haciendas, the Jesuits of the San Pablo College in Lima from 1691 to 1729 not only turned to the really limited local market, but also made the most of reliable merchants in connection with the representatives of the ¨¬asientos  slavers in Panam¨¢ then in Buenos Aires. However, they soughed to become independent of them by initiating a policy of creolisation, which would rapidly inflate the allocation of manpower in their estates. Para adquirir a la abundante mano de obra servil necesaria al desarrollo de las potencialidades de sus haciendas, los jesuitas del colegio de San Pablo de Lima, entre 1691 y 1729, adem¨¢s de acudir al insuficiente mercado local, se valieron de los servicios de mercaderes de confianza, relacionados con los representantes de los asientos negreros en Panam¨¢ y luego en Buenos Aires. Pero intentaron independizarse de ellos, iniciando una pol¨ªtica de criollizaci¨®n cuyos efectos pronto se har¨ªan sentir en las dotaciones de sus fundos.
