Luego de establecer las caracter赤sticas fundamentales de la oratoria sagrada y del proceso de producci車n de sermones, se analiza un tema recurrente en las pr谷dicas, especialmente presente en las p芍ginas preliminares de los sermones impresos (licencias, aprobaciones, pareceres): la met芍fora del serm車n como moneda de buena ley. This article focuses on sermons preached in New Spain, now M谷xico, during the first half of the eighteenth century. After establishing the basic characteristics of sacred oratory and after describing the production of a sermon as a process, this article discusses a recurrent topic in preaching, typically present in the preliminary pages of the printed versions (licenses, approvals): metaphor of the sermon as good law currency.
