%X La est¨¦tica de la ruptura, que seg¨²n Octavio Paz es uno de los paradigmas estelares de la modernidad, es interrogada en este trabajo acerca de su poder de fascinaci¨®n y de seducci¨®n. Planteamos que la novela Tres tristes tigres, del cubano Guillermo Cabrera Infante, es un ejemplo sobresaliente de una est¨¦tica rupturista en Latinoam¨¦rica y a partir de la consideraci¨®n de sus elementos m¨¢s notables, como el humor y la oralidad, este art¨ªculo se propone interrogar los presupuestos hist¨®ricos y est¨¦ticos de lo que puede considerarse como una pr¨¢ctica escritural extrema. Finalmente y a partir del concepto de seducci¨®n, criticamos la manera tradicional de comprender la ruptura, esto es, como evidente voluntad de quiebre, entendi¨¦ndola m¨¢s bien como una m¨¢scara que oculta de manera muy particular el deseo de todo texto: atraer. The aesthetics of rupture that according to Octavio Paz is one of the most prominent paradigms of modernity is discussed with regard to its power of fascination and seduction. We propose that the novel Tres tristes tigres by the Cuban writer Guillermo Cabrera Infante is an outstanding example of an aesthetics of rupture in Latin America. Considering its most remarkable elements such as humor and orality, we try to question the historical and aesthetic hypotheses of what can be considered an extreme writing practice. Finally, and with regard to the concept of seduction, we criticize the traditional manner of comprehending this concept as an evident will to disrupt. Although it can be considered as a mask that hides in a very particular way every text desire: to attract.
