%X A teoria da lei natural sofre uma transforma  o na Segunda Escol¨¢stica (s¨¦culos 16-17), que pode ser entendida como uma resposta a uma experi¨ºncia de crise. Aqui, n o se trata s¨® de uma compara  o entre a vis o de mundo crist  e a ¨¦tica aristot¨¦lica, mas est¨¢ em jogo a rela  o entre essa s¨ªntese e as tradi  es dos novos povos descobertos, dando impulso ao debate acerca de uma base moral obrigat¨®ria a ser encontrada na pr¨®pria natureza e com validade universal. No intuito de explicar essas quest es, os autores dos s¨¦culos 16 e 17 se voltaram grandemente a Tom¨¢s de Aquino. Mas, a abordagem da lei natural, por Scotus, tamb¨¦m desempenha um papel significativo nesse contexto. A sua teoria da lei natural, com uma ¨ºnfase particular no papel da vontade e da autoridade divinas para tornar manifesto o conte¨²do (como tal racional) da lei natural lato sensu e com um acento no conceito de ¡°consonancia¡±, deve ser destacada para que se ganhe clareza sobre novos aspectos da teoria da lei natural na Segunda Escol¨¢stica. The theory of natural law suffers a transformation in Second Scholasticism (16th-17th centuries), which can be understood as an answer to an experience of crisis. In this case, it is not only a comparison between Christian worldview and Aristotelian ethics that stays at issue, but also the relationship between that synthesis and the traditions of those peoples recently discovered. This situation reinforces the debate on a binding moral basis to be found in nature itself and with universal validity. In order to have an orientation about these issues the authors of the 16th and 17th centuries turned very much to Aquinas. But Scotus¡¯s account of natural law plays also a significant role in this context. His theory of natural law, with a particular emphasis on the role of divine will and authority to make manifest the (as such rational) content of natural law lato sensu and also an emphasis on the concept of ¡°consonance¡±, must be highlighted in order to understand the new aspects of the theory of natural law in Second Scholasticism.
