%X This article deals with thematic religious songs in Chile during theseventeenth century. It considers sonorous representations for the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception. Through the use of Jesuit sources of the period and the reconstruction of sonorous and/or musical traditions, it analyzes how Jesuits acted as cultural mediators or passeur of cultural products
