%X Introducci車n: la propia naturaleza de la enfermer赤a desde su surgimiento deriva de la necesidad de cuidados de salud a las personas. Esto se ha sostenido a trav谷s de los aportes de este personal en funci車n de mejorar la salud de la poblaci車n. En estudios anteriores qued車 demostrado que no exist赤a correspondencia entre las funciones aprobadas en la Resoluci車n Ministerial 396/07 y la preparaci車n recibida por los especialistas en Enfermer赤a Comunitaria durante su formaci車n, y se elabor車 una propuesta de funciones cuantitativa y cualitativamente superior. Objetivos: verificar en la pr芍ctica cuales de estas funciones son realizadas por estos profesionales en su desempe o. M谷todo: se realiz車 un estudio descriptivo, de tipo observacional en consultorios del m谷dico y enfermera de la familia de la provincia La Habana, en el a o 2011. Se utiliz車 una gu赤a de observaci車n previamente validada por expertos. Se seleccionaron los observadores, la muestra a observar y se realiz車 la observaci車n directa en la pr芍ctica. Resultados: se verific車 que la mayor赤a de las funciones propuestas son ejecutadas, demostr芍ndose que realizaban 52 funciones de ellas 40 asistenciales, 6 docentes, 2 administrativas y 4 investigativas de las 54 propuestas. Conclusiones: la mayor赤a de las funciones validadas por expertos en un estudio anterior fueron verificadas en la pr芍ctica con predominio de las asistenciales, lo que reafirma la necesidad de oficializar las nuevas funciones propuestas en el estudio. Introduction: the nature of nursing since its inception derives from the need of taking care of the people's health. This statement has supported the contributions of this staff in order to improve the population's health. Previous studies demonstrated that there was no agreement between the functions approved in the Resolution 396/07 of the Ministry of Public Health and the preparation of the community nursing staffs during their formation process. As a result, a new proposal of functions, which was considered better from the quantitative and qualitative viewpoint, was submitted. Objectives: to check in practice the functions that are really fulfilled by these professionals in their performance. Method: an observational and descriptive study was carried out in family physician and nurse's offices in La Habana province during the year 2011. An expert-validated observational guide was used.
