%X Se analizaron los resultados del tratamiento quir¨²rgico de 17 pacientes, afectados de hernias inguinales con 2 o m¨¢s recidivas, en 3 de ellos las hernias eran bilaterales. Se utiliz¨® para su reparaci¨®n mallas sint¨¦ticas de polyester (mersilene) y de polipropilene (marlex), las que fueron colocadas por v¨ªa abdominal preperitoneal. Despu¨¦s de un per¨ªodo de seguimiento de 1 a 4 a os no se ha detectado recidiva herniaria en ning¨²n paciente Result of the surgical treatment on 17 patients presenting with inguinal hernia with two or more recurrences were analyzed. In 3 of them the hernia was bilateral. Synthetic polyester surgical mesh (mersilene) and a polypropilene mesh (marlex) were used for the repair.
