%X Se presentaron 4 pacientes del sexo masculino (historias cl¨ªnicas n¨²meros 767 451, 898 039, 606 959 y 780 349), con antecedentes, hallazgos f¨ªsicos y m¨¦todos diagn¨®sticos positivos de contusi¨®n card¨ªaca, los cuales fueron atendidos en el Centro de Urgencias del Hospital (Instituto Superior de Medicina Militar "Luis D¨ªaz Soto") entre el 25 de octubre de 1989 y el 12 de febrero de 1990. El paciente m¨¢s joven ten¨ªa 18 a os y el m¨¢s viejo 64. Los 4 pacientes presentaron s¨ªntomas variables de contusi¨®n card¨ªaca. El dolor retroesternal fue la manifestaci¨®n cl¨ªnica m¨¢s constante. De los m¨¦todos utilizados para el diagn¨®stico, las alteraciones del segmento ST y de la onda T en los electrocardiogramas y la elevaci¨®n en el suero de la fracci¨®n MB de la creatina fosfoquinasa por encima del 5 % fueron los elementos de mayor valor para el diagn¨®stico. Los indicadores pron¨®sticos fueron de 20 en los casos 1, 2 y 3 (severo sin peligro de muerte) y en el cuarto fue de 34 (severo con peligro de muerte). Todos los enfermos evolucionaron favorablemente Four male patients (medical records 767 451, 898 039, 606 959, and 780 349) presenting with clinical histories, physical findings, and positive diagnostic methods evidencing a cardiac contusion were attended at the Emergency Department of "Luis D¨ªaz Soto" Higher Institute of Military Medicine between October 25, 1989 and February 12, 1990. The youngest patients was 18 years old and the oldest 64 years old. The four patients presented with different symptoms suggesting a cardiac contusion. The retrosternal pain was the principal clinical manifestation. From the methods used for the diagnosis, alterations of the ST segment and of the T wave in the electrocardiograms and the rise in serum MB fraction of creatine phosphokinase above 5 % were found to be the most useful elements for the diagnosis. The prognostic indicators were 20 in cases 1, 2, and 3 (severe with no risk of death) and in case 4 were 34 (severe with risk of death). All patients had a satisfactory evolution
