%X Los servicios de urgencia de policl¨ªnicos y hospitales sin servicio de neurocirug¨ªa, reciben pacientes con traumatismos craneoencef¨¢licos. Los graves deben recibir all¨ª atenci¨®n eficiente de reanimaci¨®n b¨¢sica respiratoria y circulatoria e inmovilizaci¨®n, antes de ser remitidos a un servicio de neurotrauma. Los leves y los de intensidad lesional moderada, pueden ser atendidos completamente en sus ¨¢reas de salud. Se ofrecen sugerencias de clasificaci¨®n y manejo y se discute la necesidad de un sistema normado centralmente, para tratar de reducir la elevada mortalidad y secuelas permanentes de los traumatizados graves Patients with cranioencephalic traumatisms are also received at the polyclinics and hospitals without neurosurgery service. An efficient attention of basic respiratory and circulatory reanimation and immobilization should be given to severe patients before referring them to the neurotrauma service. Those with mild and moderate injuries may be attended at their health areas. Suggestions for their classification and management are offered and the need of a centrally standardized system to try to reduce the elevated mortality and the permanent sequelae of the severe traumatized is discussed
