Predomin¨® en la serie el sexo femenino con una relaci¨®n de 3 a 1; la s¨¦ptima d¨¦cada de la vida fue la m¨¢s afectada, y se encontr¨® que la relaci¨®n mujer-hombre se mantuvo independiente de la edad. La hipertensi¨®n y la obesidad ocuparon los primeros lugares como enfermedades asociadas. El dolor de forma recurrente y aguda estuvo presente en el 97,82 % de la serie. La tasa de morbilidad y letalidad por colecistitis aguda fue de 25 x 100 A retrospective longitudinal study was performed in 92 medical records of geriatric patients presenting with bladder calculi and operated on by elective and emergency surgical procedures at "Mart¨ªn Chang Puga" General Teaching Hospital, Nuevitas during a five-year period. Females were found to be predominant in this series with a ratio of 3 to 1; the seventh decade of life was the most affected, and it was found that the relationship man-woman was maintained regardless age. Hypertension and obesity were rated in first place as associated diseases. Acute and recurrent pain were present in 97.82 % of the series.
