%X Las d谷cadas de 1970 y 1980 representaron para Cali un per赤odo de gran agitaci車n cultural. Las transformaciones vividas entonces por la ciudad, junto a la creciente intervenci車n de nuevos actores y discursos en su vida art赤stica, propiciaron diversas renovaciones del paisaje art赤stico cale o y ampliaron los p迆blicos de ※lo cultural§. En este proceso jugaron un papel vital las revistas culturales, portavoces de nuevas ideas y contenidos art赤sticos, y a la vez medios para la popularizaci車n de los mismos. El presente art赤culo pretende examinar esta doble funci車n, con el fin de ilustrar la importancia de estas publicaciones como agentes modernizadores de la cultura local. The 1970s and 1980s represented a period of great cultural growth in the city of Cali. The transformations experienced by the city during this time period, along with increasing action by new actors and discourse in the artistic life of the city, led to a number of changes in the local artistic landscape and broadened the audience for ※culture§. Cultural magazines played a vital role in this process, simultaneously serving as forums for new ideas and artistic content and as the medium for the popularizing of these same ideas. This article will examine this dual function with the aim of illustrating the importance of these magazines as modernizing agents of local culture.
