As hip¨®teses de pesquisa foram testadas num estudo com 252 gestores brasileiros. Os resultados revelam que a predisposi o para uma pr¨¢tica gerencial socialmente respons¨¢vel ¨¦ favorecida por um sistema de valores conservador, defensor da estabilidade e da ordem, da seguran a e do cumprimento de normas colectivas, por oposi o ¨¤ influ¨ºncia negativa de valores pessoais centrados no bem-estar individual e na auto-promo o. Esta rela o entre o sistema de valores e a atitude dos gestores perante a RSE s¨® se verifica, no entanto, nos gestores com menos de 30 anos, o que sugere que a experi¨ºncia profissional torna a adop o de pr¨¢ticas empresariais socialmente respons¨¢veis independente do sistema de valores de quem decide, sobrepondo-se factores estrat¨¦gicos e de contexto ao sistema de cren as pessoal. This article addresses the influence of managers¡¯ personal value systems on their attitudes towards a corporate social responsibility (CSR), assuming it to be a predictor of management practice. The research hypotheses were tested in a study involving 252 Brazilian managers. The results show that a predisposition towards socially responsible management practices is favoured by a conservative value system which upholds stability and order, security and compliance with collective norms, as opposed to the negative influence of personal values centred on individual wellbeing and self-promotion. However, this relationship between value systems and managers¡¯ attitudes towards CSR is only found in managers under the age of 30, suggesting that, as professional experience is acquired, the adoption of socially responsible business practices becomes independent of the value systems of the decision-makers, and that strategic and contextual factors are superimposed onto personal belief systems. Le but de cet article est d¡¯¨¦tudier l¡¯influence du syst¨¨me de valeurs personnelles des gestionnaires dans leur comportement face ¨¤ la Responsabilit¨¦ Sociale des Entreprises (RSE), en partant du pr¨¦suppos¨¦ qu¡¯elle est indicatrice de la pratique de gestion. Les hypoth¨¨ses de recherches furent test¨¦es au cours d¡¯une ¨¦tude portant sur 252 gestionnaires br¨¦siliens.
