%0 Journal Article %T Modeling and Dynamic Characteristic Research of a High Speed Hydraulic On/Off Valve %A Jian Chen %A Yuandong Chen %A Xiaochun Zha %A Mian Li %J TELKOMNIKA : Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering %D 2012 %I Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science %R 10.11591/telkomnika.v10i7.1604 %X Power losses of a novel high speed hydraulic on/off valve including four transitions during its switching between on and off states are analyzed and modeled using mathematical equations related to the geometric parameters of the on/off valve and hydraulic system parameters. The dynamic response of the on/off valve is investigated by using feedback of axial position of the spool of valve which is driven axially by a gerotor pump. A fuzzy logic parameter self-tuning PID controller is used to overcome the system nonlinearity and simulation result shows that the overshoot is decreased greatly than conventional PID controller %U http://www.iaesjournal.com/online/index.php/TELKOMNIKA/article/view/1604
