%X ¡®Teleolog¨ªa¡¯ es el t¨¦rmino con el que la cr¨ªtica suele identificar el intento de Jos¨¦ Lezama Lima por construir un mito nacional. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar y discutir la pol¨¦mica naturaleza de este mito. A diferencia de las interpretaciones pol¨ªticas que suelen ver en este telos las bases de un mito de Estado, este texto mostrar¨¢ que el principal sentido de esta teleolog¨ªa es religioso, porque pone en el centro lo que Emmanuel Levinas llam¨® el cara-a-cara entre los hombres.¡®Teleology¡¯ is the word with which some criticism identifies Jos¨¦ Lezama Lima¡¯s effort to elaborate a national myth. The purpose of this paper is to present and discuss the polemic nature of this myth. In contrast with some political interpretations that see in this telos a myth of state, this text will show that the main content of this teleology is religious, and that it is so because makes emphasis on what Emmanuel Levinas called the face-to-face between humans.
