Thus, we chose to consider the television transposition of The Crime of Father Amaro by E a de Queiroz as our object of study in order to understand how this reinterpretation reproduces Lisbon and, at the same time, how the Portuguese society and its identity is portrayed. The text focuses mainly on the 21st century configuration of the Portuguese capital and its periphery, and also highlights the proliferation of social districts where several social problems emerge.
