%X In the title compound, [CdI2(C4H6N2)2], each Cd atom is coordinated by two N atoms from two 1-methylimidazole and two iodido ligands. The Cd atom has a distorted tetrahedral coordination. Intermolecular C¡ªH...I hydrogen bonds link the monomeric units, generating a one-dimensional supramolecular chain along the a axis.
